La Luchadora is a villainous masked wrestler gimmick that was featured on WWE's SmackDown Live between December 2016 and January 2017. The gimmick was originated by Becky Lynch, and later portrayed by Deonna Purrazzo, Alexa Bliss, and Mickie James.
On December 20, 2016, a masked competitor known as La Luchadora served as the opponent for SmackDown Women's Champion Alexa Bliss. La Luchadora went on to defeat Bliss via submission, and after the match, she unmasked and revealed herself as Becky Lynch. Becky turned heel before her match against Bliss, as during her introduction as La Luchadora, the evil Becky displayed a sinister scowl before reverting to her babyface character.
On the following week, La Luchadora turned heel when Deonna Purrazzo appeared as the character during a championship bout between Bliss and Lynch. Deonna attacked Lynch during the match and sent her towards an exposed turnbuckle, allowing Bliss to retain her title. From that point on, La Luchadora served as a villainess against Lynch, and on January 3, the evil Deonna competed as the masked heel character in a losing effort against Lynch. During the match, Deonna switched places with another La Luchadora, who tapped out and was unmasked and revealed as Alexa Bliss, and after the match ended, Bliss and Deonna attacked Lynch.
The villainous La Luchadora returned during the main event of the January 17 SmackDown, a steel cage title match between Bliss and Lynch. The masked villainess blocked Lynch from escaping the cage, and later attacked Lynch to allow Bliss to retain the title. After the match, Lynch fought and unmasked La Luchadora, revealing her as the returning Mickie James, who joined Bliss in attacking Lynch.
